Local Restaurants & Places to Eat around Stonehaven

Kirktown Garden Centre & Restaurant

Kirktown, Stonehaven AB39 3UP, UK – 01569 766887

Enjoyed a lunch out with elderly mother. Good menue with locally sourced produce. Reasonably priced and very tasty! Shop stalks the type of goods my mother likes to buy for Christmas presents so she had an enjoble brouse round the shelves. Plenty of parking although improvements being made when we were visiting.

Nice garden centre. Usual gifts, clothing, food and some nice furniture for sale. Restaurant is large and service very good. The food is pretty good, though more options would be nice. Really nice outdoor space for kids to play with a few swings and slide. Overall worth a visit.

Maggie May's

25 Market Square, Stonehaven AB39 2BE, UK – 01569 760333

Lovely cosy wee cafe. Great Scottish breakfast and friendly staff. Wil definatley return again :)

Nice coffee and good selection of cakes etc. Toilet is rather awkward. Staff very pleasant and helpful.

The Tolbooth Seafood Restaurant

Stonehaven Harbour, Old Pier, Stonehaven AB39 2JU, UK – 01569 762287

What a find! Dinner for two - entree, amuse bouche, starter, main and 1 dessert, plus 2 bottles of wine, all for about £130. Very attentive and friendly service from the staff all evening. All the dishes were fabulous - good flavours subtly seasoned, and artfully presented. The chef clearly knows what he wants to achieve and brings out the best in his ingredients. All the fish are freshly caught and locally sourced, so no doubt the menu will change frequently. There were three specials and then a choice of 3-4 starters, mains and desserts. Plenty! The restaurant is on the first floor of a quaint building by the harbour (outdoor stone steps, note) but unfortunately the windows are too small for guests to enjoy the view. We were there on Wednesday evening and all the tables were booked, so I think reservations are a must to avoid disappointment. Highly recommend this place!

Amazing little restaurant, food was delicious and well prepared. Service was great, would highly recommend going here!
